View on parenthood

I saw this article and couldn't help reading it. I am interested to hear your opinions on this dilemma. It brings up some interesting points. I'm still thinking through it....

I agree with her. I dont think anyone should judge those kinds of things. Even though I am bias and think for myself my life would have never been fulfilled without children.. to each his own. I dont have to push my experience on others. And I think for some women if you want to have your own life and your own body, some people may not be able to handle never being able to have a moment to yourself. Or time to work out. I think good moms are moms who are unquestionably unselfish. And some people may not want to give up selfishness.

I also think we all have out pessimistic sides of motherhood. I think Trish can agree with me (and someday you other girls will too) that even though you love being a mother and you love your baby more than you ever imagined you could feel, there are some lasting negative feelings. No matter how much you love your baby it doesnt take away the pains of your body changing, and the lack of privacy you encounter, and for me, that lack of my own self. I feel like I almost dont matter anymore. I am a mom to my baby and a wife to my husband and I barely have time to read a magazine or take a shower alone, having full time to get ready is a treat. And even though I wouldnt trade it for anything, there may be a sense of lingering pessimism in there that goes along with all the changes that I have gone through in such a short time.
