Like sand through the hourglass... things that must go

As is the social norm, I must put in my two cents as to THINGS THAT MUST GO... and then go jump off a cliff.
1) Saying hi by knocking fists. What are we 5 years old again? "Hey man, I'm making this super secret GI Joe club. The sign is to touch knuckles like an ass." It's like we're primitive again. "Hi, URG. You da man. Grunt. Give rock." Im just pissed cuz I can't do it.
2) People that watch American Idol, According to Jim, or Cheaper by the Dozen, and LIKE them. I am trying to BETTER the taste in America by supporting entertainment that is WORTHY of being seen, heard, enjoyed. So much crap is passed for entertainment and it drives me crazy that it makes boatloads of money. Yes Im looking at you, liker of Church Ball.
3) Anything with Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson, Ashley Simpson, Paris Hilton, or anyone else that deserves no attention, and yet recieves all the attention from folks who'd rather live vicariously through these low lifes, then do something themselves.
More serious things that must go...
1) Organizations that lay claim to objectivity. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY to look at the world really objectively, anyone that tells you so is trying to get you to think their way. Fox news, Rolling Stone, CNN, the New York Times--ALL of them are subjective. Human beings by nature affect and are affected by EVERYTHING they interact with. All we can do is TRY to see both sides of an issue.
2) People that bash people who don't agree with their cherished opinion. "I hate this guy cuz he is so full of bigotry, ignorance, and intolerance." Does anyone see the disconnect? It happens to me too. Sorry to everyone that hates President Bush, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, or Dick Cheney. The only reason our political system isn't like Taiwan's is we respectfully realize that there are different ways of doing things. That doesn't mean we need to charge the aisle and cold cock them, or bash them with words that don't mean anything, i.e. stupid, idiot, lame.

Sam isn't that the essence of being an American? You get to call people stupid and get away with it. I don't like people that say that he is stupid, for reasons like they stink, or "He just sucks!" If he is stupid then have a reasonable argument to back up your claims. If someone just doesn't do something that you like then I don't warrant that being stupid. But someone who commits a far-fetched war against a people cause he's under the banner of "God", then yes I think that is stupid.
I agree with the point about being American. We can say whatever we want. But hurling insults, or making accusations that can't be proved don't do anything. Did HE commit a war against a people? no. Did many of our smartest representatives all decide to go to war? yes. Did he help mislead our representatives? I have no idea at this point.
Well, the thing we have to be careful about is putting words in his, or anyone's mouth. I don't follow every talk that has been given in politics, but I've never heard Bush say "I'm under the banner of God, and Iraq is supposed to be America." He may have been utterly and totally incompetent to be the president (I think so). He may have been woefully misled, and maybe even helped mislead (i dunno). He may not share our idea of how to win back the world, and country (I think he doesn't). Therefore, I think he is an incompetent, misleading, and oblivious president. He's definitely not stupid.
I stand corrected on the issue of him being a pretentious religious fanatic. Thanks Lindsay. But hopefully you get the point that windy got. Dismissing someone with a word that means nothing is pointless. I guess I'm ranting against this slightly uneducated view of the world that most teenage kids are fed through punk. I know I'm opening a can with this, so please don't misread my point. I am talking in generalities, so I don't mean individuals. The masses usually aren't smart enough to think for themselves, so they listen to whatever idol they have put before them. It just so happens that these idols simplify their messages to fit into songs for example. Although they may understand the message totally, most just get the "outrageous" points. They then start a mantra that a,b,or c is stupid. Obviously complex issues, men, and politics can't be dismissed as stupid. A common practice of understanding an opposing opinion is to argue for it, not negate it.
I think that my point may have been misunderstood for me claiming that President Bush was stupid. I was in no way calling the man stupid. Hell he is a genious in my book for getting the moral majority to vote him in for a second term. He is a very well educated man, Harvard degree says a lot. What I was getting at was the whole war in Iraq is stupid. Yes it is a general vague term, but so is this war. The man himself is a genious, but at the same time a little too self righteous for my liking. I mean to claim that God came to him in a dream? Does that not put him in the same red as the Terrorists that he so desperately is seeking out. They bomb embassy's, banks, churches, mosques, all under the banner of God. God works in mysterious ways, but not through a backpack full of explosives, or a 60 mm artillery barage.
