I was just wondering what your view point is on taking over the counter pain killers. Or any pain killers or medicine for that matter. I read that everytime you take a tylenol, or pills with the active ingredient that you are 2.2 times more likey to get liver cancer. And everytime you pop an ibuprophen (Aleve, Motrin) you are 4 times more likely to get kidney disease. There is a theory that when your body is sick, fever-ish, that when you take pain relievers that it is interupting what your body's ability of healing itself.

Yeah, I've heard that too. I also heard that a lot of times the same factories, and packaging plants will be dealing with the name brand AND the generic equivalent. They box them both up right next to each other.
How should the FDA test long term affects? Of course they should but i would guess that is is hard to tell the effects of one single drug over a lengthy period, there is so many variables. The FDA is under a lot of pressure to also release drugs that people want and could potentially be life saving. I understand it is the FDA's job but shouldnt the drug maker have most of the responsibility if a drug is harmful.
