My turn to jump into the fire
Ok, since I feel bad for criticizing other people's taste in music (how could ANYONE not like the Beatles?)
Here is my list of favorites (remember, I'm getting old):
- JOHNNY CASH
- THE BEATLES
- Dido (a bit weak, I know)
- Shakira (don't bother criticising anything she's done in english - I haven't heard it)
- Dave Matthews (I think I'll get the most criticism for this one - people seem to be polarized on him)
- Pato Fu
- Tom Petty (Has a new CD coming out - yes I know he's ugly)
- Diggable Planets
- Audioslave
- Neil Young
Feel free to discuss any of them...

Well you know my take on Dido, no one compares. And since you have rubbed most of these off on me.. I love Tom Petty I dont know why I dont listen to him more, love the Beatles mostly from listening to them with you when I was younger, Audioslave..not so much, I really think Dave Mathews is talented and like to listen to them occasionally although I think most of their recent music sounds the same, but I love anything acoustic, and I agree Shakira is better in Spanish even though I dont know what she says. But I dont like how she changed her image once she came here and got popular.
I REALLY like the Patu Fu chick's voice... cool lyrics too.
Holy crud! What trash! I wouldn't listen to those if you... just kidding. I want to give you some crap over what you said, but I don't have a lot to disagree with besides what's already been said. Some aren't my favorites, but they're still good. I need some Diggable Planets. I also need Pato Fu, and Neil Young. Dave is a little generic to me since his music is pretty much ubiquitous nowadays.
I love Tom Petty, very underrated. Dido, great.
I think Dave Matthews appeals to a few different crowds: guitar players / acoustic guitar fans (his concerts with Tim Reynolds are amazing), jam band fans, and granola people.
