You have no idea how important you are....
We mostly hear about women, but men.... you have no idea how important you are....
"Brethren, noble fatherhood gives us a glimpse of the divine
attributes of our Father in Heaven. A father should be many things. He
should magnify his priesthood and be an example of righteousness. In
companionship with his wife, he should be the source of stability and
strength for the whole family. He should be the protector and the provider
and the champion of the members of his family. Much of his love for his
children should flow from his example of love, concern, and fidelity for
their mother. By his uncompromising example he should instill character
into his children."
( James E. Faust, "Them That Honour Me I Will Honour," Ensign, May 2001, 46)

That is such a great quote, and I think we get so wrapped up in superficial things like houses and jobs that we forget that if we focus on what we should really be expecting from each other, our spiritual roles, than everything else will fall into place.
Its so hard for me to know what the mans role is because I have never had a real father figure, let alone a remotely spiritual one, and so I have no expectations. I haven't been able to share with a family beliefs so I go about behind closed doors even in my marriage because I dont want to push it on other people because that is how I have to live my life being surrounded by non member family and close relatives and I was treated holier than thou if I did, so I feel that same way in my home. So I am so used to praying in secluded places without anyone knowing and sneaking scripture reading when I am alone that it has just stayed with me. .. Ok I just went way off subject.
